Where I Take Root — Original Painting, 2026

Where I Take Root explores the space between ancestral memory and contemporary identity. Through the female figure, organic and digital elements come together: the tension and coexistence between past and present, nature and technology, our emotional and physical worlds.

The flowers are transformation, growth, memory, and the roots we carry with us. The geometric and digital textures are the contemporary world, and the identities we keep building as we move through it. As an immigrant, I am interested in the idea that belonging is not always attached to one place. We carry pieces of where we come from while continuously creating new roots.

Acrylic on unstretched canvas. I am not interested in technical perfection. I want the irregularity, the spontaneity and the trace of the hand left in the work. This is the original vertical composition, created for its 2026 New York exhibition.
